Artificial Bypass From Upper Body To The Leg

Vermont rates for HCPCS 35623

Creates a detour for blood around a blocked stretch of artery, using a tube of artificial material rather than one of the patient's own veins. The graft is tunneled under the skin from an artery high in the upper body down to an artery in the leg, restoring circulation to the limb. It is used when the usual route through the abdomen and pelvis is not usable, and is done under anesthesia with a hospital stay.
