Taking an Artery From the Arm for Heart Bypass

Vermont rates for HCPCS 35600

A length of artery is removed from the arm through an incision so that it can be used as a graft in heart bypass surgery. Artery grafts stay open far longer than vein grafts, so they are used where a lasting result matters most. It is billed in addition to the bypass operation in which the artery is used.
