Vein Bypass From The Aorta To Head Or Arm Artery

Surgery that creates a detour around a blocked or narrowed artery by sewing a bypass channel from the aorta to one of the large arteries supplying the head or the arm. A length of the patient's own vein is used as the bypass channel. Restoring flow relieves symptoms such as arm weakness, dizziness, or reduced blood supply to the brain.
