Clearing Plaque From An Abdominal Organ Artery

Opens an artery that branches off the aorta inside the abdomen to supply the intestines, the liver and spleen area, or a kidney, and strips the hardened plaque out of its inner lining to restore flow. The vessel is then closed again, sometimes with a patch to keep it wide. It is done through an open abdominal incision.
