Direct Repair of a Blood Vessel in the Abdomen

Virginia rates for HCPCS 35221

Repairs a torn, cut, or damaged blood vessel inside the abdomen by stitching the vessel wall itself back together, rather than replacing the damaged length with a graft. The abdomen is opened so the vessel can be controlled above and below the injury. It is most often needed after trauma or damage during another operation.
