Fenestrated Stent-Graft Repair Of The Aorta

Nebraska rates for HCPCS 34841

Repairs a weakened, bulging section of the aorta — the body's main artery — where it runs through the upper abdomen and gives off the arteries to the kidneys, liver and intestines. Instead of opening the abdomen, the surgeon threads a fabric-covered metal graft up through an artery in the groin and seats it inside the aorta; the graft is built with openings so blood keeps flowing into the organ arteries it crosses, and small lined stents are passed through those openings into those branch vessels. The X-ray imaging used to guide and check the repair is included.
