Open Aortic Graft Repair After Failed Stent

Connecticut rates for HCPCS 34832

Open surgery to replace a weakened, bulging section of the main artery in the abdomen with a fabric graft, carried out after an earlier catheter-based stent graft repair has failed. The surgeon opens the abdomen to reach the artery directly, and also repairs any damage to nearby arteries. It is a considerably bigger operation than the catheter-based repair it replaces.
