Open Groin Exposure For Aortic Stent-Graft Delivery

Vermont rates for HCPCS 34812

Covers making an incision in the groin and surgically exposing the femoral artery so that an aortic stent graft can be delivered through it, then repairing the artery and closing the wound. This route is chosen when the artery is small, heavily diseased, or otherwise unsuitable for entry by needle puncture. It applies to one side and is billed in addition to the main aortic repair.
