Open Groin Access With Graft Channel

Maine rates for HCPCS 34714

Surgical opening of the groin to expose the main leg artery and sew a short synthetic tube onto it, creating a wide channel into the circulation. That channel is used to pass a bulky stent-graft delivery system when the artery itself is too narrow, hardened or diseased to accept it directly, or to connect the heart-lung machine when an operation needs it. This access work is done on one side and is charged in addition to the main procedure.
