A fabric-covered stent graft is guided up through the blood vessels and opened inside the main artery of the abdomen, below the branches to the kidneys, lining the weakened and bulging section so blood no longer pushes on the vessel wall. This version uses a straight tube graft that stays within the aorta itself rather than extending down into the arteries of the pelvis. The measuring, imaging and any ballooning needed to seat the graft are part of the procedure.
