Insertion Of ECMO Tubes Through The Skin

Maine rates for HCPCS 33952

Places the large tubes that carry blood to and from an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation machine, known as ECMO, into large blood vessels outside the chest using needle puncture through the skin rather than a surgical cut. ECMO takes over the work of the lungs, and in some setups the heart as well, while they recover. This version applies to older children and adults.
