Repair Of Misconnected Lung Veins

Washington rates for HCPCS 33730

Open-heart surgery for a child born with pulmonary veins that drain into the wrong place instead of into the left upper chamber of the heart. The surgeon reroutes the veins so that oxygen-rich blood returning from the lungs enters the heart normally, and closes the associated opening between the upper chambers. It is usually done in infancy and often urgently.
