Heart Bypass Using Four Or More Artery Grafts

Maine rates for HCPCS 33536

Routes blood around blocked heart vessels using arteries taken from the chest wall, forearm, or abdominal wall as the new channels, with four or more such grafts placed. The chest is opened through the breastbone and each graft is sewn onto the heart's own vessel beyond the blockage. Artery grafts tend to stay open longer than vein grafts do.
