Vein Grafts Added to an Artery Bypass

Maine rates for HCPCS 33518

Covers the vein grafts used in heart bypass surgery when artery grafts are used in the same operation. A length of vein, usually taken from the leg, is sewn from the aorta to a point on the heart artery beyond the blockage, giving blood a new route to the heart muscle. It is billed in addition to the artery bypass work done at the same sitting.
