Aortic Valve Replacement With Widening Of The Ring

Vermont rates for HCPCS 33411

Replaces the aortic valve, the outlet valve of the heart's main pumping chamber, with the patient supported on a heart-lung machine, and includes enlarging the firm ring the valve sits in so that a bigger replacement will fit. A larger valve lets blood leave the heart more freely and reduces the strain on the heart muscle. Enlarging the ring adds a rebuilding step to the operation.
