Aortic Valve Replacement With a Made Valve

Vermont rates for HCPCS 33405

The aortic valve, the outlet valve between the heart and the body's main artery, is cut out and replaced with a manufactured valve, either mechanical or made from treated animal tissue mounted on a frame. The heart is stopped and a heart-lung machine takes over the circulation while the new valve is sewn in. It is done for a valve too narrowed or too leaky to be repaired.
