Brain Protection Filter During A Heart Valve Procedure

Vermont rates for HCPCS 33370

Places a filter into the arteries leading to the brain before a catheter-based heart valve procedure and removes it afterwards, so that any debris knocked loose during the procedure is caught rather than carried up to the brain. It is delivered through a puncture in an artery and includes the imaging needed to position and retrieve it. It is billed in addition to the valve procedure.
