Aortic Valve Replacement Through the Groin Artery

Missouri rates for HCPCS 33362

Replacement of a narrowed aortic heart valve with an artificial valve threaded up on a catheter from the femoral artery in the groin and expanded inside the diseased valve. Here the surgeon makes an incision and exposes the groin artery directly to introduce the delivery system, rather than entering the vessel through a needle puncture. The heart is not opened and keeps beating during the procedure.
