Adding a Left-Side Pacing Wire to a Device

Delaware rates for HCPCS 33224

Places an extra pacing wire into a vein on the outer surface of the left side of the heart and attaches it to a pacemaker or defibrillator that is already implanted. The addition lets the device pace both lower chambers together so a weak heart squeezes in a more coordinated way. The pocket under the skin holding the device is reopened, and the generator itself may be replaced at the same time.
