Removal of a Chest Mass Through Small Incisions

Removes a cyst, tumor, or other mass from the mediastinum, the space in the middle of the chest between the lungs, using a camera and long instruments passed through small cuts between the ribs. The mass is freed from the structures around it and taken out without opening the chest widely. The tissue is sent for examination.
