Bedside Suctioning Of The Airways With A Scope

Rhode Island rates for HCPCS 31725

Clears thick mucus, secretions, or plugs from the windpipe and the larger breathing passages using a suction catheter guided by a flexible viewing scope. It is done at the bedside rather than in an operating room, typically for patients who cannot cough effectively and whose airways are becoming blocked. The scope lets the clinician see where the blockage is and direct the suction to it.
