Airway Valve Removal, Each Extra Lung Lobe

Vermont rates for HCPCS 31649

Covers taking one-way valves back out of the airways of a further lobe of the lung during the same scope procedure, and is billed in addition to the main procedure. A scope is passed down into the airway and the valves, put in earlier to shrink an over-inflated part of the lung or to seal an air leak, are retrieved. Each additional lobe dealt with is counted on its own.
