Computer Navigation During a Lung Scope Exam

Vermont rates for HCPCS 31627

Computer guidance used during a lung scope examination to steer the instrument to a target deep in the lung, following a map built from a previous CT scan. It works rather like satellite navigation inside the airways, letting the doctor reach small spots in the outer parts of the lung that are hard to find by sight alone. It is done during the main scope procedure and billed in addition to it.
