Nerve Reinnervation Surgery For A Paralyzed Voice Box

Wyoming rates for HCPCS 31590

Surgery that restores nerve supply to a paralyzed voice box by transferring a small piece of working muscle together with its nerve to the muscle that moves the vocal cord. It is done to improve a weak, breathy voice or breathing trouble caused by vocal cord paralysis. Voice change is gradual, because the transferred nerve has to grow into its new position.
