Complete Ethmoid Sinus Surgery With Adjoining Sinus

Vermont rates for HCPCS 31253

Endoscopic sinus surgery that opens all of the ethmoid air cells, the honeycomb of small chambers lying between the eyes, from front to back, and carries on into an adjoining sinus in the same sitting. Everything is done through the nostril with a thin telescope, so there are no cuts on the face. It is used for long-standing sinus disease or polyps that block the drainage pathways and have not responded to medication.
