Frontal Sinus Surgery With Bone Flap, Brow Incision

Maryland rates for HCPCS 31086

An operation on the frontal sinus, the air space in the bone above the eyes, carried out through an incision at the brow rather than through the nostril. A section of the sinus wall is lifted as a hinged flap of bone so the surgeon can clear diseased lining and re-establish drainage, then the bone is laid back into place and the sinus is left open to drain.
