Removal of an object stuck inside the nose, carried out in an operating room with the patient fully asleep. General anesthesia is used when the object cannot be safely reached in the office, because the patient cannot hold still, the object is lodged deep, or there is bleeding and swelling in the way. The nose is inspected afterward to make sure nothing is left behind.
