This is a camera-guided, minimally invasive surgery to fuse the subtalar joint, a joint in the foot just below the ankle, so the two bones grow together into one solid unit. Small instruments and a camera are inserted through tiny incisions to prepare and position the joint surfaces for fusion, rather than to repair a fracture. It's a more targeted approach than a fully open surgical fusion of the same joint.
