Knee Arthroscopy With Cartilage Surface Repair

Vermont rates for HCPCS 29879

Keyhole surgery on the knee in which a worn patch of joint cartilage is treated by making tiny holes in, or roughening, the exposed bone underneath so the body forms new repair tissue over the bare area. The surgeon works through small punctures with a camera and fine instruments, smoothing frayed cartilage at the same time. It is aimed at a small, well-defined area of damage.
