Keyhole Removal of Shoulder Joint Lining

Vermont rates for HCPCS 29821

Keyhole shoulder surgery in which a camera and fine instruments are passed through small punctures and the inflamed lining of the joint is stripped away throughout the joint rather than from one area only. It is used when a thickened, inflamed lining keeps producing swelling, pain, and stiffness, as in inflammatory arthritis. Because the joint is not opened widely, recovery is generally quicker than after open surgery.
