Pin Fixation Of A Dislocated Toe-Base Joint

Treatment of a dislocated joint at the base of a toe, where a long bone of the foot meets the toe bones, by realigning it and then holding the bones in place with pins or wires inserted through the skin, without fully opening the area surgically. It is used when the dislocation is unstable enough that it will not stay in place with realignment alone. The pins are typically removed once the joint has stabilized.
