Surgery for a Broken Toe Bone

Repairs a broken bone in a toe through an incision, lining the fragments up under direct view and holding them in place with a pin, screw or wire when needed. It is used when the pieces are badly out of position, involve a joint, or cannot be held straight in a splint or buddy strapping. The foot is protected in a stiff-soled shoe or boot while the bone knits.
