Repair Of A Foot Bone That Did Not Heal

Corrects a broken bone in the foot that has failed to knit or has healed in a crooked position. The surgeon exposes the bone, clears the scar tissue and dead bone from the old break, realigns it and holds it with screws, wires or a plate, and bone graft may be packed into the gap to encourage healing. It is done for ongoing pain, deformity or difficulty walking.
