Bunion Correction With Bone Cut Near the Base

Vermont rates for HCPCS 28295

Corrects a bunion, the bump and inward drift at the base of the big toe, by cutting the long foot bone behind the toe near its base and shifting it into better alignment, then holding it with screws, a plate or pins. Overgrown bone on the side is trimmed, and a small bone under the joint is removed if it is causing trouble. Correcting closer to the base allows a larger amount of realignment.
