Tendon Reattachment With Extra Foot Bone Removal

Vermont rates for HCPCS 28238

Treats pain on the inner side of the foot caused by an extra small bone sitting where the posterior tibial tendon attaches. The surgeon removes that extra bone and then reattaches and tightens the tendon onto the bone beneath, restoring its pull on the arch of the foot. It is usually done when pain and a flattening arch have not settled with insoles and physiotherapy.
