Removal of Bone From the Heel

Removes a section of the heel bone through an incision at the back or side of the heel, taking away bone that is prominent, damaged or pressing painfully on nearby tissue. The soft tissue and tendon attachments over it are protected or reattached, and the wound is closed. A period of protected weight-bearing follows while the area heals.
