Vermont rates for HCPCS 27759
A broken shin bone is stabilized by placing a metal rod down the hollow center of the bone, often locked in place with screws at the top and bottom. The rod holds the pieces in line from the inside while the bone heals, and a broken calf bone alongside it may be addressed at the same time. It is done in an operating room under anesthesia.
