Shinbone Nonunion Repair With a Bone Graft

Washington, DC rates for HCPCS 27724

Treats a shinbone that has failed to heal after a break, or has healed in the wrong position. The bad bone at the site is cleared away, the leg is realigned, and bone taken from the patient's own body — commonly the rim of the pelvis — is packed into the gap to stimulate healing. The leg is then held steady while the graft knits into place.
