Shinbone Nonunion Repair With Sliding Graft

Rhode Island rates for HCPCS 27722

This repairs a shinbone fracture that has failed to heal properly, either not healing at all or healing in a poor position, using a sliding graft technique where a piece of the patient's own bone is shifted and repositioned to bridge the gap and encourage healing. It's a bone-grafting approach rather than simply stabilizing the bone with hardware alone. The technique is chosen based on the size and location of the healing problem.
