Repair of a Ruptured Achilles Tendon

Reconnects a torn Achilles tendon, the thick cord joining the calf muscle to the heel bone, stitching the separated ends back together at the right length so it can heal. It is the repair done for a fresh rupture, either through an incision at the back of the ankle or through small puncture wounds. A cast or walking boot and a staged return to weight-bearing follow.
