Removing a Lower Leg Bone Cyst With Donor Bone

Rhode Island rates for HCPCS 27638

Removes a noncancerous cyst or growth from the shinbone or the fibula by scraping out the cavity it has formed, then packs that space with bone from a tissue bank. Filling the cavity restores strength to the bone and helps it fill in with the patient's own bone over time. Donor bone is used so no second incision is needed to harvest bone.
