Putting a Dislocated Knee Back Under Anesthesia

Rhode Island rates for HCPCS 27552

Puts a dislocated knee back into place without opening the joint, with the patient under anesthesia so the powerful muscles relax and the bones can be guided back. Circulation and nerve function below the knee are checked carefully afterwards, because the artery behind the joint is often injured in this type of dislocation. The leg is then splinted while further imaging is arranged.
