Knee Replacement Revision, Both Sides of Joint

Vermont rates for HCPCS 27487

Replaces a previously implanted knee replacement, exchanging both the thigh-bone component and the entire shin-bone component. Old implants and cement are taken out, damaged or missing bone is rebuilt, sometimes with donated bone, and new parts are fitted. It is done when an earlier knee replacement has loosened, worn out, become infected or failed.
