Knee Replacement Revision, One Part Replaced

South Dakota rates for HCPCS 27486

Replaces one of the parts of an existing artificial knee, leaving the rest of the implant in place. The surgeon reopens the knee, takes out the worn or loose component and the cement around it, prepares the bone and fits a new part, using bone graft if there is a gap to fill. It is done for wear, loosening, instability or pain in a knee that has already been replaced.
