Repositioning the Bony Bump Below the Kneecap

Vermont rates for HCPCS 27418

Cuts free the bony bump on the front of the shin where the kneecap tendon attaches and moves it forward, fixing it in its new position with screws. Shifting that attachment changes how the kneecap presses against the thigh bone and can relieve pain from worn cartilage behind it. The knee is protected while the bone heals in its new place.
