Hamstring Tendon Transfer to the Thigh Bone

Montana rates for HCPCS 27400

Detaches the hamstring tendons at the back of the thigh and reattaches them to the thigh bone itself, changing the pull of those muscles across the knee. It is used when tight hamstrings hold the knee bent and prevent standing or walking straight, often in cerebral palsy or after nerve injury. Rerouting the muscles lets the knee straighten more fully.
