Lengthening of a Hamstring Tendon

Vermont rates for HCPCS 27393

Lengthens a hamstring tendon at the back of the thigh so a knee that is held bent can straighten further. The tendon is either divided partway so it slides out to a greater length, or cut in a stepped pattern and re-joined longer, through an incision at the back of the thigh or knee. Unlike simply dividing the tendon, lengthening keeps the muscle connected so it can still work.
