Open Release of Hamstring Tendons in One Leg

Open surgery in which several of the hamstring tendons running from the back of the knee up toward the hip are divided to release a tight pull that holds the knee bent. It is used when contracted hamstrings stop the leg from straightening, interfering with standing, walking, or seating. This version covers more than one tendon in a single leg.
