Minimally Invasive Fusion of the Pelvic Joint

Vermont rates for HCPCS 27279

Fuses the sacroiliac joint, where the base of the spine meets the pelvis, working through small punctures in the buttock under X-ray guidance rather than through an open incision. Implants are driven across the joint to stop it moving, and bone graft may be placed so the surfaces knit together. It is done for persistent pain that has been traced to that joint.
