With the patient fully asleep and the muscles relaxed, the surgeon moves the hip through its range of motion using steady controlled force to break down scar tissue and adhesions that are limiting movement. No incision is made and nothing is implanted. It is used for a hip that has become stiff after injury, surgery, or a long period of immobility.
